Celine Dion Extends Las Vegas RunBy Chuck Taylor
NEW YORK (Billboard) - Celine Dion has extended her run at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas for an additional year.
The announcement was made at a Sept. 16 press conference in the city, which Dion was unable to attend due to a sinus infection that forced her to cancel shows through the remainder of last week.
Dion performed the previous evening at the World Music Awards in Vegas, and accepted a Diamond Award as the best-selling female singer in history.
In her place at the press conference, husband/manager Rene Angelil revealed that the calypso-flavored cover of John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy" will be the single from Dion's upcoming Epic album, "Miracle," a collaboration with famed child photographer Ann Geddes.
Due Oct. 12, the disc will be packaged with a 180-page coffee table book, as a boxed set and as a single CD.
Dion will perform Oct. 15 at WLTW (Lite-FM) New York's One Nite with Lite concert at the Theater at Madison Square Garden, her only 2004 concert appearance outside Las Vegas.
